Beautiful journey experience on private hotel transfer from Seminyak to Sidemen, leaving the Swiss Belt hotel Petitenget on the check out time as the request, we start the journey with taking the route by middle side of Denpasar and continue true the high way of Bay Pass Ida Bagus Mantra high way main road access to the east of Bali from west direction. Duration traveling about 2 hours including some traffic along the route from Seminyak to Sidemen.

Meet one local guy Mr. Karya, as he very friendly introduce his village on our resting point and giving us extra information about the production village of Balinese Wine spirit called Arak. In Bali Arak is very famous as local spirit or drinking alcohol and also very important to use as special offers on ritual Hindu religious ceremony.
The village we whent visited called Banjar Telun Wayah. Most of the villagers has a traditional arak production as main industry on this village. The process making arak it selve is kind of need more patient and high risk of result on little drop alcohol from a tiny hole of pipe. A traditional way of distillation will be successfully get good quality of Arak if the fire attending looking after the fire very well, and to get a liquid of Arak the local farmer or arak makers will get the liquid material called tuak from coconut tree. Mostly the local farmer of Arak maker will get the “Tuak” liquid from coconut tree trunk every morning and do fermentation with their special receipe mixing to the tree trunk before it get stored for fermentation for 3 days. And after fermentation the Tuak or tree trunk fermented will get to distillation process with special control of fire wood by an expert Arak maker to avoid it burn.
The Arak Result on final drop after distallation is always deppending the quality of mixing with some herbs natural before it fermented and fire wood control expert on distallation process. The total process time from getting the liquid of the tree trunk in coconut tree until it ready become a good quality of Arak is take 4 days in Total. Arak can be has 60 % of alcohol grade. That was a great experience on our journey.
Not only seeing Arak, we have visited also a beautiful canyon that hanging on the cliff behind the village. Is called Dukuh canyon, beautiful rock structured hanging on the cliff. Access to get to the canyon is kind of adventuring of road.
Small road just enough for one car and tiny more less about 3 meters road wide. Driving scooter to explore the area here it may be better. Because getting the small road by the big van as we have is kind of little bit over size vehicle for getting in true this road. The dukuh canyon and waterfall was super beautiful awesome.
After visiting the Telun Wayah village and Canyon waterfall we contiue to visit the rice terrace and having lunch before heading to the hotel in Tebola Village. Very lucky that we seen farmer working on their field, planing a rice on amazing terracing under the hills side.
It may every farmer has their own way to begin planing a rice and rice has view different kind of rice. Such as regular white rice, Glutinous rice or sticky rice we also called Ketan, red rice , and black rice as we called Injin. Most of the rice it has similar mode to plan in the rice field with fully of water.
Start planing a rice need 90 days until it get ready to get to harvist and it need plenty of water irigation.
To arrange the water irigation, the farmer has fairly system deviding water irigation manage by local community farmer called Subak. Subak has managed the water irigation from high location fountain to the last river after irigated the rice field.
Having lunch over looking true the amazing rice terrace with organic steam rice and local dish is perfect stop before heading to Tebola village as the next accomodation to stay.
